Through two weeks the Gurus have picked the winners correctly on 88% of the games. The panel is 55% on covers and 48% on total points. Week three will challenge our panel of experts as a number of high profile games are on tap.

Week 3 see 47 games on the schedule. There are 20 Power 5 (P5) versus Group of Five (G5) matchups, 17 G5 versus FCS games, and 10 G5 versus G5 games, including 4 conference showdowns.

Let’s take a look at some of the marquee G5-P5 games. On Friday night Louisville hosts UCF. The Guru panel expects the Knights to win and cover in a matchup of two high powered offenses. On Saturday, Cincinnati faces its toughest challenge of the season when it visits Indiana. The Gurus expect this to be a close one with Indiana springing the upset over the Bearcats. UCLA hosts Fresno State and the Gurus believe the Bruins will win and cover the 11.5 spread. Iowa welcomes Kent State to Iowa City. Iowa is giving up 22.5 points, but they looked awfully impressive in their first two games, so we are going with the Hawkeyes to win and cover. Nevada travels to Kansas State for an intriguing matchup. We see Kansas State eking out a win in a mild upset. In a matchup of ranked teams, BYU hosts Arizona State. We see this one going down to the wire with BYU remaining undefeated. Finally, Boise State has a home date with Oklahoma State. We see Boise winning a game that will come down to the wire, but not covering.

In the G5 conference matchups we see UAB handling North Texas in a high scoring match-up, UTSA winning and covering over MTSU, Air Force winning a close one over Utah State, and San Jose State handling Hawaii on the road.

In some key non-conference G5 games we believe Louisiana will rebound from a couple a lackadaisical showings and easily handle Ohio on Thursday night. On Saturday we see Coastal handling Buffalo but the Bulls will give them a fight and cover the spread. We believe Wyoming will win and cover against Ball State, Marshall winning in a closer, lower scoring matchup against East Carolina, and SMU beating Louisiana Tech in game that will stay below the 65.5 point line.
