This is your source for all things bowls in the Group of Five. We will track team eligibility as the season progresses and provide the bowl resources to help you follow the bowl prospects of all the Group of five conferences and teams.

We begin with our bowl eligibility tracker. To qualify for a bowl game, teams must win 6 (for a 12 game schedule) or 7 games (for a 13 game schedule). The table below tracks the total teams that have qualified and which teams are still in the running for bowl slots by conference.

The bowl tie-ins for the Group of Five are somewhat complex. We will review those tie-ins in the next section. The table below provides a high-level view of the bowl slots allotted to the Group of Five. Please note, if not enough Power 5 teams qualified for bowl spots, additional qualified Group fo Five teams could be selected. A Guarantee slot means if a qualified Group of Five team exists, it will be given the slot. A provisional slot means there would need to be a shortage of eligible P5 teams in order for the Group of Five to claim the spot.

As mentioned previously, the Bowl Tie-ins can be quite complex. Each conference has a set of bowls that guarantees slots for eligible teams. In addition, there is a set of bowls that review the entire Group of Five and select from qualified teams, irrespective of conference. This is typically done to entice higher attendance by selecting teams closer to the venue. Additionally, the ESPN manages 17 bowl games. They have selection rights for some of these games and can pick across the Group of Five for match-ups that would drive higher viewership. The tables below are by Conference and show the different bowls and types of tie-ins in place.
